Great digs; superb company; good weather and fantastic golf. What more can I say, I do believe that everyone had a super time and loved the awesome surroundings. Cottage number 1 greeted the weary travelers on Friday night with a meal of pulled pork on pretzel buns with all the fixins, we even had dessert which made Sonia’s day.
Our first round of golf on Saturday started out a bit cool but as the day progressed the temperature increased and we experienced no precipitation during our round. Gail was really happy that we played the “sock game” she remembered feeding the sock many, many times previously but this time she won the sock, so all was good. Nancy Clements had a very good game, so good in fact that they went and played another nine. Dawn Hodgins had a personal best, no wonder Kristy wants her old clubs she is hoping it will rub off!!!
On Sunday we tee’d off again, this time with some knowledge about how to play some of the holes. The weather was wonderful, sunny and warm and we all did our best to improve our scores. Nancy who had a great game on Saturday had her worst front nine ever on Sunday, so much for knowledge!!!
It was great to have a couple of the Edmonton crew with us and I was lucky enough to get to play with Lisa. She told us she was a beginner but I think she was putting us on either that or she had some pretty good lessons up in the North country. Kristy played with Katherine and she too is playing a very nice game, and please when she is teeing off keep the chatter up no silence necessary!!!
Four of us had the opportunity to play nine on Friday morning before the rest of the group arrived and did we ever find a hidden gem, Indian Springs Ranch. It was in fantastic shape, the staff were so accommodating and helpful and the course provided some beautiful vistas and some challenging golf.
