Remembering Alison, our good friend, mentor, and work mate. Alison Taylor was a very special lady and an integral part of our lives and of Golfaround. Sadly she passed away suddenly in August of 2006 and will always be remembered and have a special place in our hearts. Alison was born in 1959 as were Kristy and Merina and they always had fun sharing their birthdays. Alison was an awesome golfer but was always very patience and helpful to the beginners, she had a passion for the game and loved playing. I loved playing with her and those were always my best games. I will always remember playing twilights at Maple Ridge and the Elks finishing in the dark. Alison would say “hit them down the middle Di we will find them” she had an eagle eye and could always find lost balls. Kristy and Alison worked together at Canadian Western Natural Gas where Alison was the girl Friday doing everything and anything. She was a great cook and we had many fabulous meals at her house, she loved adding Kaluha to almost anything…mm good. Alison had lost her Mom at a young age so she and I became very close, she was like another daughter to me.
Allison had her trip of a lifetime with us in Africa, I can still hear her saying “animals, animals” we had an amazing time and so did she. She had bought a new camera for the trip and took over 3000 fabulous pictures.
She was always at Donna Grays pool parties and brought yummy pot luck goodies, enjoyed the water sports and libations. Ironically it was while she was making her desert for the party that she had her fatal brain hemorrhage, that is the pool party we will all never forget. Skutter, her dog was the love of her life and when she went to Africa she made out a will making sure that if anything happened to her he would be taken care of and he was.
Alison’s co-workers, her Golfaround family and friends bought and dedicated a couple of benches to remember her, you will find one on hole #18 at The Elks and the other on the ridge by Lynnwood where she used to walk Skutter.
Each life is a miracle that changes the world and leaves it a better place than it was before
Love and Prayers
Alison
