If it felt like this summer was just one thunderstorm watch or warning after another, it’s because it often was. Environment Canada issued almost two-and-a-half times as many severe thunderstorm-related weather bulletins this summer across southern Alberta than it did in the summer of 2015.The 2016 season certainly had it’s challenges, the weather Gods were not too kind to us. It did seem like that threatening, big, black cloud came in at about 4pm every week day and sometimes on the weekends as well. We can’t remember when we have experienced such violent storms. Kudos to you all for going with the flow, we are so very lucky to have such great members who never complain and will always “give it a try”. Spring came early and that was great, our last dome night ended up being a round at Fox Hollow, it was too nice to be inside, we had a great evening on the course in April, believe it or not. The lessons, for the most part, went without too much re-scheduling as the early season was pretty nice. Also the Mystery Bus trip to Golden and and the Play & Stay in Fernie and Edmonton’s wind-up at Broadmoor enjoyed some favorable weather. In addition we had a wonderful time at the Mardi Gras, it was so great to sit out on the deck with the sun in our faces, such a treat and Italy’s weather was wonderful as well, so not all was amissI guess we can chalk everything up to experience and hope that 2017 brings us some nicer weather more conducive to golf.
