It’s been a slice, not the golf kind we hope but the meaning that is, we have had a blast. We are now approaching the autumn of our discontent. Soon, the snow will fall, blanketing our dormant courses, smothering our spirits and leaving us with, well, free time to be proactive about our games and to reflect on the good times we’ve had, the great weather, with the exception of rainy June, and the great people we have met and played with. Remember just because Golfaround has ended your season can go on into September and October, these can be great times to golf.
This is the time when we may take stock of how our season has gone, did we feel we improved? Did our lessons help us get better scores, have more fun? Maybe you did not get out as much as you wanted, golf is a game of infinite hope and maybe your goal will be to promise yourself that you will play more often next year or plan to join us at the dome this winter for practice and socializing.
Last but not least we may want to do some budget crunching, how much did you spend on green fees, lessons, equipment, clothes, was it more than you thought or do you still have some left in your budget to fund that special golf trip you’ve always dreamed of. We still have a couple of spots left for our Africa Safari next February, a trip of a lifetime.
We have enjoyed the season and have appreciated the assistance everyone has given us. We feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to get to know our new members better and always appreciate the friends we have made in the past. We have wonderful memories that will remain with us for a very long time and each season provides more.
“Bye Bye the golf gals all sigh
From the bogey to the birdie so excited what a high
Summer golf is over and we think we will cry
We all miss our golf and now we know why
This will be the day to say g’bye
But winter is coming and the activity remains
Come out and enjoy the friends are the same
Conditioning, practice, and trips will prevail
Practice makes perfect we will not get stale
Golf gets better and this makes you smile’
