New members to Golfaround will not know how we manage our international travel and we don’t want you to miss out on some awesome opportunities. Our members will always get the first chance to come and if they choose to come in with another member that is great. However if they want a roomie we will give them some names of other singles who also would like to team up. For some of the travel you may want to room with someone you know and we are not opposed to that as long as they golf, if golf is involved as it is most of the time. We do limit our group sizes to between 24 to 32.
We have been offering travel opportunities since 2003 and have golfed on six of the seven continents. In the US we have traveled to Sedona, Santa Fe and Palm Springs. We have also experienced some diverse experiences in Africa, Thailand, Vietnam, Borneo, Turkey, Portugal, Italy, New Zealand and in 2019 Ireland, the Emerald Isle.
Our latest adventure as you know is Africa which we did travel to in 2006 however it was so amazing that we decided to do it again, and this itinerary looks even better. We are two thirds full so if it is of interest don’t hold back. Africa is a huge nation with so much to offer, there are so many incredible places to choose from. This trip includes the scenic beauty of Cape Town and the Cape Peninsula, the world renowned gastronomic experience of the western cape, the spectacular sight of awe-inspiring beauty and grandeur of Victoria Falls ‘Mosi-oa-Tunya’ – ‘The Smoke that Thunders’. We will also experience the famous quality and breath-taking scenery of some African golf jewels and last, but certainly not least, we will visit the safari capital of Africa, Kenya. Our Safari will be the “ pièce de ré·sis·tance”, a great way to finish an amazing adventure. Masai Mara is located in south-western Kenya and shares it’s southern border with Serengeti Park in Northern Tanzania. Here we will stay in luxury tented rooms furnished with all the amenities that you will require for a comfortable stay. We are in the midst of breathtaking vistas, abundant wildlife and endless plains. It will be awesome to take a walk on the wild side on an African safari.
The word “safari” means “journey” in Swahili. And a safari is all about the journey. While seeing a leopard munch on a freshly caught gazelle or spying a curious lion cub venture away from its mother’s protective embrace will be highlights of our trip, we’ll discover the journey is as much a part of our trip as the destination. The feeling of the wind (and maybe a little dust) in your hair when you’re travelling down long, winding roads, and the young Maasai boy who waved at you as you passed him along the road will stay with you long after you return.
