Happy New Year. As we welcome the beginning of another year, we extend our heartfelt wishes to everyone and their loved ones. We hope the new year brings health, happiness, and some adventure. May this year be filled with well-being, joy, and opportunities for exciting experiences for all.
The 2026 golf season is quickly approaching, and we are excited to welcome another year of enjoyment and camaraderie. As we bid farewell to 2025, our anticipation grows for the fresh opportunities and activities that await all our members. We look forward to memorable experiences both on and off the course, embracing another year filled with fellowship, fun, and personal growth through golf.
This past season was notably busy from the outset. The Kick Off Social was held at Valley Ridge Golf Club, followed by the Beginner Golf Orientation at Heritage Pointe, where Beginner golfers played with a mentor on the 3 playing holes. Additionally, a New Member Orientation was hosted at Haysboro Community Hall. While each event was successful, we do miss the simplicity and familiarity of conducting everything at Cottonwood Golf and Country Club out on the island.
Golfaround proudly marks its 30th year in business this season. To commemorate this milestone, we are planning a celebratory event early in the season. Some of you will remember the big party we did for 20 years, the 30 Party will be fun however done on a smaller scale.
Our longstanding tradition continues to evolve, and as many members are aware, Golfaround has recently adjusted its business model. Previous communications have outlined the details of our new approach.
The Beginner Program remains at the heart of Golfaround, representing the foundation upon which our community was built. It all began with “the dirty dozen,” whose journey led to the creation and growth of Golfaround. We continue to believe in the value of lessons to enhance our skills, and we recognize ongoing interest from our members. The Beginner Program will be offered again this season, featuring a series of lessons paired with league play. Returning Beginners that would like to move to the Intermediate league will have to take Level II lessons prior to moving. The early march programs would fit nicely into your plans to move up. Clinics spaces are limited due to restricted numbers, so we encourage early registration to avoid disappointment.
As we look ahead to the coming season, members can participate in winter practice sessions at the Eaglequest Golf Dome at Fox Hollow Golf Course, beginning Jan 8. Weekly emails will provide details for those interested in attending. To further prepare for the golf season, Yoga classes will once again be offered this spring. These sessions have received consistently positive feedback and are a great way to promote a healthy, injury-free season.
Our website has been updated, enabling existing members to register starting Jan 1. New member registration will open on Feb 1. Early indoor lessons will be available in March, so we recommend registering promptly if interested.
