Fernie, the Park Place Lodge and Sparwood Golf Club have been a longtime favorite over Golfaround’s 20 years, we must have been there at least ten times. Why would we go there so many times you ask? it may be because they always treat us so very well, their staff have always been so attentive and pleasant, they can’t do enough for us and this year they outdid their hospitality. As always some of us, started the weekend off with an optional round at Crowsnest Golf Club and it was a beautiful day, there were 15 of us. We arrived at the Park Place Lodge all ready to host the hospitality meet and greet in our room only to find out that the staff had prepared a huge surprise for us. 
They had planned the hospitality in the Fireside Room and had hot and cold appetizers and champagne as well as juices and a present for Kristy & I. They had it all decorated and the tables were set with linens and candles, it was so very special. What a lovely surprise to help us celebrate 20 years. Saturday dawned bright and sunny and our golf was finished before the dark clouds came in accompanied by a few sprinkles. Our smaller numbers allowed us to have our banquet in the Fireside Room and it so nice to have it all to ourselves along with the decorations. Sunday on our way home we had a very enjoyable nine holes at Sparwood. The course is in great shape and the price offers great value, it is a very pretty golf course and we usually see wildlife during our round, this year was no exception and we saw deer frolicking in the bush.
