Mother Nature really has been kind and most of the lessons are complete. We hope you have enjoyed your lessons and are taking away at least one thing to better your game. I am very thankful and grateful for our team that stepped up to the plate this year. They are doing a great job and we really do need to appreciate what they do for us. You see them at the start of your golf round to meet and greet you, introducing you to other members to make you feel welcome. Being a Starter can be a tricky job and sometimes stressful. I speak from experience as I know how it feels when you are waiting for late arrivals, some of which end up being no shows, moving people forward all the time making sure the number of 4’s and number of 3’s will accommodate those there to golf. It is not always fun to be at the end, and you hope when you finish you will be able to join some in the clubhouse to share the round over a meal and a bevy.
“The Day League in Edmonton continues to go as planned in the schedule – a full complement of tee times every Monday morning and almost perfect weather has provided a wonderful spring golf experience. We have welcomed some “new to Golfaround” golfers into our midst and at least one recent retiree has migrated from the evening leagues to the light of the day. All lessons scheduled during the day have been completed with most of us having learned at least one new skill to practice as we go through the rest of the season. Happy Golfing! “ submitted by Paige Nelson
