About Golfaround
Membership in the Golfaround women’s golf leagues requires enrollment in a lesson program. A Level (I or II depending on skill level) is necessary in year one; then in subsequent years you have your choice of the programs offered.
Operating since 1997, our programs include golf lessons, league play and events at a variety of private, semi-private and public courses in and around Calgary. In addition, we also offer international travel to members and their spouses.
About Women’s Golf Lessons
The Clinics offer 1 1/2 hours of instruction for 2 weeks and a meal prior to or following one of the lessons.
Both are group lessons and the ratio of instructor to students is 6:1. Instructors and groups remain consistent throughout the set of lessons.
We also offer “Spring Training” with lessons, golfing and fun in a sunny, warm location.
If you miss a lesson and advise us, we do our best to offer you a make-up if possible.
About the Women’s Golf Leagues and Membership
We are non-competitive and promote having fun while keeping the pace and playing “ready golf.” We don’t do any handicapping. We leave this up to you.
As a member you receive a schedule for the season. Booking your weekly golf game is done by using a booking link that is sent Monday mornings. You can book on your own or for yourself and one other member. We put you in a foursome, confirm your tee time and provide a starter at each league game. You just show up and pay your green fees.
We are a committed group and do make weather calls at the golf courses for both league play and lessons. As we are sure many Albertans can appreciate, weather at 4:00pm may not be an issue by 6:00pm and weather in one area of the city may not affect another area.
