Women's Golf Lessons
Enrollment in a series of lessons is a requirement for league membership. In year one, a Level Program is required and the skill level and experience of the member will determine which level is appropriate. The lessons are taught by golf professionals at a variety of golf courses and are usually a 6:1 student/teacher ratio.
Refunds Lesson & League
Any refunds that do not fall under the following parameters will incur a 10% Administration Fee. Cancellation 30 days prior to the lesson start will receive a 75% refund; 29 – 15 days will receive 50%; no refund if less than 14 days. Lessons may be cancelled due to inclement weather by Golfaround and make-ups will be on the scheduled weather day or in the case of the 5 week lessons an extra ½ hour will be added onto the next two lessons. If this is not possible an extra lesson may be scheduled. Substitutions or make-up classes beyond the above cannot be accommodated.
Lesson Venues
Venues are determined after the majority of the registrations are received and processed. If possible participants are placed in a location close to home/work but numbers and/or the location of the majority may impede this.
Lesson Meals
There is a set budget amount for the meals that are included with the lessons. Gratuity and GST are included in this amount. Participants will keep to to this amount, eat at the restaurant and refrain from exceeding the budgeted amount. If a Golfaround menu is provided participants are required to pick from this.
Women's Golf League Play
Golfaround believes that we should have fun when playing however it is important to the course, members of your foursome and Golfaround to keep the pace. We request you only take one mulligan per nine holes, accept a “gimmie”, pick up after double par and take no more than three putts.
League Schedules
Schedules for the season are provided at the beginning of the season and are used to assist you in your weekly booking process. Please ensure that you have them available to assist you.
Tee Time Bookings
Weekly bookings for members are done by e-mail commencing at 8am on the Monday prior to the week of play. A first and second choice where applicable is required. You will only be notified if you DID NOT get your first choice. Tee times are made available to you prior to the week of play.
Tee Times
The tee times you receive are a guide only and may change if cancellations/delays occur. Please be flexible and arrive at least 20 minutes before your scheduled time and be prepared to go earlier if asked.
Foursome Development
Foursomes are mixed and changed weekly to promote a social, interactive and fun environment. We will meet requests if two friends wish to play together or if there are four who travel together they can be placed in close proximity. Three friends is hard as it is sometimes difficult for the fourth. Occasionally we will make an exception to this rule. We try to be fair when assigning early times but later times can be requested.
Check-in at the Course
Arrive no later than 15 minutes ahead of your scheduled tee time. If you are delayed still come as you can be placed in a later time. Check in with the Golfaround starter and pay your green fee in the golf shop. Note that while foursomes are pre-set. If you do not arrive within 8 minutes of your tee time, or you have not informed the starter you have arrived you could be put with another group.
Cancellation Policy
League cancellations need to be communicated by a phone call, not by e-mail. There will be a cost of $20 for “no shows” or if cancelled last minute (48hrs). An exception to this is when Golfaround has paid a deposit and is charged the green fee. The cost will be passed on to the member cancelling.
All confirmations and cancellations are to be done through GOLFAROUND. Do not call the course as we may have someone on the wait list.
Numerous occurrences may result in booking privileges being suspended.
Inclement Weather Policy
Most Calgary golf courses remain open regardless of inclement weather, therefore cancellation of play due to bad weather is done at the golf course. You are expected to show up at the course.
However, if a course makes the decision to suspend play, Golfaround will make every effort to notify you before you head out to the course. Don’t let a thunderstorm downtown lead you to believe that there is one at Cottonwood or D’Arcy Ranch.
Pace of Play
Players are responsible to keep up to the group in front of them at all times. To be considered on pace, groups must be within 1 shot of the group ahead of them. When there is no group in front to use as a reference, a playing time of a maximum of 2 hours 15 minutes shall be used per 9 holes.
